Kako bi pokazala snagu i veličinu live albuma, ekipa redakcije britanskog portala Far Out napravila je svoju listu 20 najboljih live albuma svih vremena.
Najraniji počeci “živih” albuma vuku korene iz džez muzike snimane po klubovima. Od tada su live albumi evoluirali zamenivši pucketajući snimak iz zadimljenog kluba energijom grozničave gomile iz Arena i sa stadiona.
