Lizzo je uspela da skupi ukupno 8 nominacija s tim da je kao 17-godišnjakinja najmlađa u istoriji koja je sakupila nominacije u sve četiri glavne kategorije. Bili Eilip ih ima 6, a s Lizzio se poklapa u kategorijama: Record of the Year, Album of the Year, Best New Artist, Song of the Year, Best Pop Solo Performance i Best Pop Album.
Posle kritika upućenih prema dugogodišnjoj muškoj dominaciji, došlo je do trenda povećanja broja ženskih kandidata za čak 82%.
Za rock album godine takmičiće se Tom Jork, Bon Ajver, Džejms Blejk, The Chemical Brothers i Vampire Weekend, dok će se The Cranberries takmičiti sa svojim poslednjim studijskim albumom “In The End”, snimljenim poslesmrti pevačice Dolores O’Riordan 2018. godine, javlja NME.
Ceremonija dodele nagrada Grammy održaće se 27. januara 2020. u Staples Centru u Los Anđelesu, a domaćin dodele biće Ališa Kiz.
