Ko još ne zna za pesmu “Video Killed the Radio Star”…? Sasvim normalno, kada je upravo ta pesma bila prva koja je emitovana na MTV kanalu, 1. avgusta 1980.
A 18. oktobra prethodne, 1979. godine ovaj hit grupe The Buggles stigao je do 1. mesta američke Top liste.
“Video Killed the Radio Star” je pesma The Bugglesa sa njihovog albuma “Living in the Plastic Age”.

U septembru 1979. “Video Killed the Radio Star” stiže na vrh britanske liste UK Singles Chart, a nepunih mesec dana kasnije hit osvaja i Ameriku.
Pesma se takođe može naći i na njihovom albumu “The Age of Plastic” objavljenom 1980. Pesma hvali vreme kada je radio bio značajan, a postoji i parodija pesme pod nazivom “Internet Killed the Video Star” objavljena 2000.
