Reći sve šta nameravate u “granicama” jedne pesme je već podvig. A učiniti to za dva minuta ili manje, još je veći uspeh.
50-ih i 60-ih godina prošlog veka, pop i rok muzika je imala najveći udar pesama koje su lebdele negde oko dva i po minuta. Godine 1964, godine kada su Beatlesi prvi put stigli u Ameriku, svaki od 10 najboljih singlova na Billboard Hot 100 trajao je između dva i tri minuta. Bila je to savršena količina vremena da zadovolji i angažuje slušaoce, a da ne zauzme previše vremena emitovanja na radio stanicama.

Ali šta kad se i ta granica spusti? Šta je sa “reći više za manje vremena”? Šta je kada se na cedilu ostavi slušalac koji želi više?
Mnoge dobro osmišljene rok pesme jedva premašuju dvominutnu oznaku – Blurova “Song 2” i Heartova “Dreamboat Annie” traju 2:01, Queen “We Will Rock You” staje na 2:02 ili Beatles “Yesterday” je tesno na 2:05. Ali za listu od 40 najboljih kratkih pesama ikada mi smo odabrali numere koje su dva minuta ili kraće. Uživajte, kratko je, ali slatko:
